KAFP 6370 - Public Economics

Public economics studies the role and intervention of the State in the economy. The objective of this public economics course is therefore to describe, understand, and analyze the public policies implemented by governments, as well as the problems these policies aim to address, using descriptive, empirical, and theoretical approaches. After outlining the market failures that justify the implementation of public policies, we will focus on: Competition issues and regulation; firms and labor market policies, climate change and environmental policies, public goods, inequality and redistributive policies, pension systems and public debt.
