OADD 2275 - The Future of European Energy Efficiency Policies : Options and Updates
Effective energy efficiency policies are at the heart of the European Green Deal and the REPowerEU proposals. Only ambitious and workable policies can safeguard reaching the decarbonisation and defossilisation of the European at quick speed. However, energy efficiency can be technically complex to address and asks for a continuous updates of policies to exploit the existing cost-effective potentials. Under the guidance of professionals from the European Commission's Directorate General for Energy, groups of students will investigate in the future of energy efficiency policies in Europe: How could existing regulations be updated? Which additional policy measures could be taken?
In an inverted-classroom format, the groups will investigate in these and other questions.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Students will acquire in-depth knowledge about European energy efficiency policies
2. Students will be able to contribute to the conception of clean energy policies
3. Students will train their capacity to transfer their theoretical knowledge to policy implementation practice.
4. Students will cooperate with policy practitioners from the European Commission.
Professional Skills:
Self-management; project management; policy analysis and consulting; presenting and debating study outcomes.
