OAFP 5390 - From Broadcast Networks to Platforms: the Challenges for TV Production

The main goal of this class is to introduce the TV industry to students and provide them with the opportunity to discover a new creative business activity. Television is a cultural and social powerforce but also a business which is becoming more and more global. This course will explain the process of TV creation and the recent changes of the market from TV networks to global streaming platforms. Students will interact with industry experts and understand the development of a TV format.

Spring 2024-2025
Students will work in groups on developing a new TV concept, pitching and selling the concept to the class (50%) + one writing assignment on a TV show (40%) + Participation in class (10%).
The first part of the class will be dedicated to the theory, while the 2nd part will feature guests from the TV industry.
