ODEC 9045 - EU Sanctions in the Global Context

Economic sanctions and export controls have become a central element of foreign and national security policy. Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has brought a new era for sanctions policy and enforcement. The EU has operated a paradigmatic shift in this regard, both in policy making and expectations for the private sector. Have EU sanctions become extraterritorial? What are the new trends in implementation? How is the rest of the world responding to these new developments? This workshop will bring a practical and theoretical perspective on practicing EU sanctions and export controls in the current global environment.
