K7LA 2805 - Luxury Hospitality

The luxury hospitality is is a sector in constant evolution which attracts a large public of professionals and is part of an economy which does not weaken. The objectives of this course are to better define the contours of luxury hospitality, to better understand the current issues but also to integrate new trends and consider the challenges of tomorrow. In particular, we will consider how luxury establishments can deal with new forms of competition but also with changes in customer expectations.. We will also assess the extent to which luxury establishments can be socially and environmentally responsible.

The course evaluation will be based on: - the creation of a fictitious luxury hotel concept (powerpoint presentation) (individual work counting for 80% of the final grade) - the positive participation in the course sessions (20% of the final grade)
The course bridges theory and practice, combining an academic background and practical examples. It is meant to be very interactive. In each session, students will work on case studies specifically related to the sector and addressing its main issues.
