OMKG 2855A - Sustainable Fashion

COURSE SUMMARY A global industry worth $2.4 trillion, employing approximately 60 million people worldwide, fashion is also accounting for 8-10 percent of global carbon emissions. Estimated to grow by 81 percent by 2030, it is placing an enormous strain on already scarce resources. This rapid growth paired with the evidence of climate change acceleration, consumer pressure for brands accountability on the back of events revealing the darker side of the industry are pushing brands and retailers to act fast. While increasingly numerous players are following suit to sustainability pioneers and innovative solutions are being implemented, reports show sustainability is becoming one of the primary drivers of purchases for consumers. This course presents participants with an in-depth overview via practical tools and a hands-on experience. It helps them understand the key issues the industry currently faces and guide them towards how to make a tangible impact.
