As the geopolitical landscape becomes increasingly complex, can there be a better time to delve into the law and practice of EU security and defence? Our course is a journey into the intricacies of security and defence at the EU level, a subject likely to have substantial implications for the future of the EU and beyond.
Students will gain an in-depth understanding of EU security and defence law and policy. They will explore the distinctive governance arrangements of the policy area and the changing roles of the actors involved. They will also analyse the changing legal and political dynamics within the EU and in the world at large, and immerse themselves in the civilian and military operational realities of EU security and defence. Finally, students will study current and future challenges in EU security and defence, preparing them for the complex issues they may face in their future careers.
