DDRO 25A83 - Public and Private International Law: An Introduction to International Arbitration

This course is a brief introduction to public and private international law, with respect to international arbitration. It will cover selected topics in commercial and investment arbitration, including the current tensions and state of the arbitration regime. It will balance introductory discussions of relevant topics such as human rights, sustainable development, energy, and cultural heritage in international law, focused on the investment arbitration regime, by analyzing relevant case law. Each session will be a chance for students interested in international law to gain a multi-disciplinary understanding in current, contemporary topics.
