BEXP 15A06 - International Economic Governance and Development
The course offers an introduction to the fundamentals of “political economy of international relations” through the survey of international economic organisations and other global coordination attempts and development economics. While reviewing all types of countries, it in particular focuses on least developed and transition economies, exploring the relationship between international economic organisations' mandates, policies and economic development and global financial stability in practice. Students enrolled are not expected to have significant background in economics yet core micro and macroeconomics introduction training would be appreciated.
The course offers a review of theoretical and practical core knowledge and a systematic application through group case studies. Students are to prepare each session with prereadings offered by the lecturer.
