French theory with its emphasis on the political and philosophical construction of the self and the way the self is perceived, is considered to be the source of many different theories. One of the them is post-colonialism. In this course, we will read closely Albert Memmi and Franz Fanon, and analyze their ideas while learning how to read a primary text.
