KDEC 2105 - Role of Law in Global Governance 2 (The)

This course will present the global governance implications of private international law (as a response to the public international perspective presented by Jean d'Apremont during the first semester). It will use the study of cases from around the Western world to understand and critically assess the legal technologies that co-produce the emancipatory idiom of global governance. Topics will cover the private international legal underpinnings of the global economy, such as value chains, vulture funds and sovereign debt, self-immunized insurance and financial markets, corporate liability for social and environmental damage (and more).
