BMET 22A07 - International Law in Practice: Dispute Resolution

How does international law work in practice? How do states solve their disputes, without recurring to the use of force? Throughout this workshop, we are going to analyze the main causes of contention in the international arena, together with the mechanisms of their possible resolution. Every week, a ground-breaking case will be presented, showing how dispute resolution functions in practice. Legal cases will be supported by fictional problem solving scenarios, through which students will be asked to put their skills as international jurists into action. The aim of this workshop is to introduce students to the main mechanism of dispute resolution and to offer them the tools to address the most up-to-date problems of international law.
