ADRO 23A10 - Fifth Republic: Constitutional Law (The)

The course proposes the study of the mechanisms of French constitutional law thus providing the elements of reflection that are essential to the understanding of current political events. The course analyzes the Fifth Republic in a historical context, tracing its evolution and its current mutations. At the end of the course, the students will be able to evaluate the applications of the constitutional text as well as political practice, and to identify the potential differences between the two aspects. When relevant, elements of comparative law will be used in order to better highlight the specificities of the French Fifth Republic
